Useful Tips

Here are some of the pros and cons of this printing method:

Pros:

  1. Vibrant Colors: Sublimation printing produces bright and vivid colors that are long-lasting and will not fade over time.
  2. Versatility: Sublimation printing can be used on a wide range of materials, including polyester, nylon, and other synthetic fabrics.
  3. Cost-effective: Sublimation printing is a cost-effective printing method compared to other printing methods, especially for large quantities.
  4. No Feeling on the Fabric: Unlike screen printing, sublimation printing does not leave a heavy, thick layer on the fabric, so the garments maintain a soft and comfortable feel.

Cons:

  1. Limited Colour Options: The colour options are limited to the colours available in the sublimation ink, which is not as diverse as other printing methods.
  2. Requires Synthetic Fabrics: Sublimation printing requires the use of synthetic fabrics, which limits the range of garments that can be printed.
  3. Colour Bleed: Sublimation printing can result in colour bleed if not done properly, which can compromise the quality of the print.

The Conclusion

Sublimation printing is a good option for printing designs on apparels if you are looking for bright, long-lasting colours, cost-effectiveness, and a soft feel on the fabric.

However, it has some limitations, such as the requirement for synthetic fabrics like those that are labeled as quick dry, performance T-shirt or dri fit materials. It is important to consider the pros and cons carefully and choose the printing method that best meets your needs and budget.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Your logo or design is first printed onto a special paper. Then, a heat press machine transfers the design onto a piece of fabric or material. The inks that are used turn into gas when brought under heat, then sublimate the ink onto fabric and permanently print onto the fabric. The effects are permanent and less prone to fading, as the ink is embedded in the fabric or substrate rather than simply laying on top like a normal print.
The longevity of the design is a plus point, with a design that won’t crack, peel or fade. Our sublimation printed t-shirt is expected to last long even after going through the washing machine countless times.

For sublimation printing, the best material to print on is Polyester fabric or using a combination (100% polyester or polyester blend) and not cotton fibers or any other fabric type. It is capable of printing your t-shirt design or logo on polyester garments like T-shirts, Polo Tee, Jerseys, Safety Vests, and Towels, and small items too such as mugs and novelty goods.

For the optimal sublimation shirt printing result, it is of utmost importance to provide a high-resolution image. The images that you need to provide should be created and saved at a high resolution of between 150 to 300PPI (Pixels Per Inch) in various formats such as .PNG, .JPEG, .GIF, and BMP.

Our sublimation printer is able to print as small as pocket size within 10cm x 10cm as part of the fabric garment or print larger size images that cover the entire garment or the apparel itself. It is commonly used as a full customisation when one wants to print the design on the whole apparel.

Please note that the pricing is based on the print size for easy calculation. We will indicate the actual dimension in the layout before the sample printing.

Our sublimation printing allows achieving all-over prints with no colour limitations. You can choose to print logos, names and numbers, and intricate designs with the colours that you choose.

The pricing is determined based on the following attributes:

  1. What is the size of the print? The bigger the print size, the price will be higher.
  2. The total number of the same prints required? Although it does not have the same setup cost as compared to silkscreen printing, it also follows the principles of being cheaper if you print more.
  3. What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)? We consider full sublimation print as a full customisation and the order starts from 50 pieces and above..

Please refer to our online apparel catalogue for the ready-stock apparel for your selection that may suit you and your designs.

Typically, our turnaround time is within 2 to 4 weeks upon confirmation based on 50 to 100 pieces. However, if you need it sooner, please contact us and we will check with our production schedule on the feasibility to deliver within your requested timeline.
